History of the Peridot
Peridot the precious gem has been appreciated for ages the world over and is highly valued even today. It has captured the fancy of many as it is the birth stone for the month of August. It is also endowed with the magical property of bringing goodluck, success and peace to the wearer. The gem is a yellow-green to green in color and rarely found in brown or greenish brown color too. But real Peridot green gems are the favorite of all jewelry owners.Even Cleopatra is said to have worn Peridot which was sometimes interpreted as Emerald. Yes it could very well have been Peridot, because it was mined as early as 70 A.D.( the first recorded production ) off the coast of Egypt. St. John’s Island in the Red Sea was the largest source of this gem in those days and even now it is produced here in small quantities. Myanmar( former Burma) was the producer of the best variety (large and clear) of Peridot for a long while . The change in Government has led to a complete cut in Burmese Peridot production and is practically out of circulation. Otherwise those were the best in color, clarity and size.
The U.S used to be the greatest producer of this gem for a long while but now Pakistan and China are catching up fast.Currently the United States is the basic distributor of Peridot to the global industry. Arizona and New Mexico are the biggest gemstone miners in the United States. The olive green to yellow green to bright green Arizona Peridot, is widely acclaimed and can be used as cut or faceted gems and also as nuggets. San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation in Gila county is the largest source of the gem in the world today. 95% of the world output of Peridot comes from the Peridot Mesa in the Reservation. Very highly priced and rare gems of 15 and 22 carats have been cut from the San Carlos Mesa. Here mining is strictly for Native Americans. They sell to dealers in small or large quantities at random, and these brokers sell to the industry or even take up faceting services etc.
In the Mesa the gem is found in the form of grains or aggregates in a basalt. This is recovered either by natural erosion of the basalt or by drilling and blasting. The other area that provides these gems is Buell Park Apache county, Arizona. There are three locations in New Mexico namely Buell Pak, McKinley county, Kilboune Hole and Potrillo Mar depression. So do look out for these wonder gems set in bracelets, pendants, earrings, rings or in baroque jewelry and open your door to good luck, peace and success.

Yellow Pak Question
Nintendo 64 problem, can you help please?
Yes i know the 64 is old but its one of my favorite game systems and anyone who has played it will always remember it.
I have got it out of storage and it worked fine for maybe a month. i had got an expansion pak for it so i could played zelda:majora’s mask and Perfect Dark. I was playing zelda and for some reason it just cut out. The screen went black. so i thought to myself, well it just froze and it needs to be rebooted is all. when i turned it back on all that showed up was a yellow screen. i tried several times after that and all that showed up was a yellow or sometimes white screen. so i tried some other game of mine like mario kart 64 or zelda ocarina of time and those didn’t work either. So i tried both of my jumper paks and those didn’t work as well. So what happened and how do i fix it? any ideas? i have several different cables, even a gamecube cable and it still didn’t work so i know its not the cables.
make sure you use the correct cables. since its so old make sure you take out the game and blow air into the slot where you place the game to get rid of dust. use Q-tip on the game and carefully run it through the inside of the game. push the game in hard(not to hard to break it lol) and make sure all cables are firmly connected. remember this is a really old system so it could just be totaled. maybe take it to a gamestop and see if they could help if the past tips didnt work but good luck.

The String Quartet Tribute to Elton John $11.74 String Quartet Tribute to Elton John picks 13 selections from the songwriter’s lengthy career and reinterprets them with violin, viola, cello, and guitar. It’s interesting that there’s no piano here — like when the violins handle the hesitating chorus of “Bennie and the Jets,” or the sighing cello that makes up for the lack of tinkling high notes in “Candle in the Wind.” “Tiny Dancer” is a highli… |
