The Features of a Colour Laser Printer
Deciding on a new printer to get can be tough; not only because there are so many different brands and models available in the market today, but also because of the several types of printers to choose from that each have their own advantages and disadvantages. To make things even more confusing, there are budget and highly priced printers for every category so getting a good midrange printer still requires some figuring out on what printer to really get.
Perhaps the most balanced choice is the colour laser printer, as the budget models are not that overpriced compared to inkjets while having all of these features to take advantage of.
Flexible Printing Options
Colour laser printers should be able to print decent quality photographs on standard paper. Even if they underperform compared to actual specialist photo devices, colour lasers can still print other coloured documents like art, graphics, and coloured text rather well. These laser printers can also print monochrome images or regular text documents the same way standard models do.
Faster Printer Speeds
While an inkjet may have flexible printing options as well, colour laser printers enjoy faster printing speeds which are very noticeable when printing photographs. Laser printers simply print much faster without sacrificing any quality when compared to inkjets. Faster printing of documents is also significant, especially when dozens of pages need to be printed in one go.
Fewer Printing Problems
Some of the budget inkjets may print fast enough for people that may not use them as much, but there can be times when paper jams can occur which can be difficult to solve and may even require a trip to a local repair service. Inkjet and some photo printers rely on ink cartridges that can spill and sometimes mess up the paper, which not only leads to a waste of ink for reprinting, but also a waste of paper as well. Since a laser is used instead, these problems are eliminated making it worth the extra cost as maintenance costs are reduced.
Improved Print Quality
Some of the better laser printers boast better quality than inkjets and may even be enough to rival photo printers as long as photograph paper isn’t really needed. Once again, the laser contributes to the accuracy of printing good photos and documents. Combined with the speed features, this makes laser printers a better choice than the slower printing photo printers.
Toner Container Usage
Laser colour printers do not contain any ink cartridges at all, but use toner containers instead. These containers are a bit larger and not only help solve the problems of ink spillages. These containers also last longer allowing more pages to be printed before a container needs to be replaced. This reduces the need for placing any orders or going out to buy replacements.
In addition to these features, some colour laser printers may be multifunctional as well as having scanning and faxing features. Having a built-in scanner alone can literally turn the colour laser printer into a fully functional copying machine that supports coloured documents, making them even more flexible than any other printer.

I have a new PC with Vista. What is the best order in which to install my other software?
Main progs I use are: Kaspersky Internet Security, Canon Scanner, Samsung Printer, Office Prof 2007, Chambers Dictionary, Word Perfect, Paint Shop Pro, Jot+ Notes, Write it Now, Life Journal 2, Mind Manager Pro 6, First Class, Lyceum and Mozilla Firfefox.
Make sure you have your security installed first of all. The rest of your programes will probably need drivers, no problem , Vista tells you were to look for downloads.
I need some software for my netbook advice please?
I have a samsung nc10 netbook on the way (Curry’s slow delivery lol) anyway i have bought a printer/scanner a external dvd/cd reader/writer and the Microsoft student and home edition software.
So my question is do I need to get anything else?

You will need a good Internet Security software (I use Zonealarm Internet Security Suite Professional and also Avast internet Security Software). These usually include antivirus, malware / spyware security software, firewall, pop-up blocker, and etc.. I would also download Mozilla Firefox, it is a lot better web browser than Internet Explorer
Try not to use McAfee – I see a lot of things get through it (viruses wise)
Norton 360 is good but is a memory hog and will slow your system down a lot.
What Operating System is coming with the laptop
