My laster printer red light issue help !?
Samsung Ml 2510 laser printer has a red light on and i can’t print, ink is good and no paper jam, any solution?
According to the manual it means one of the following:
A paper jam has occurred. To
solve the problem, see page 9.1.
• The cover is open. Close the
cover.
• There is no paper in the tray.
Load paper in the tray.
• The printer has stopped printing
due to a major error.
• The toner cartridge is not
installed. Install the toner
cartridge.
• Your system has some
problems. If this problem occurs,
contact your service
representative.
Password Protect USB Printer?
I’m using a USB port printer Samsung ML-2510 and was wondering if there are any ways to password protect my printer from my friends. Currently, I am living in a dorm with 3 other people, whom I think are using my printer when I go home over the week end (I take my laptop home with me also). I know you need to download a driver to print something, but since they all have a laptop and access to the internet, they can just go online and download the driver for my printer and print. Bad thing is, my printer uses a USB port so they can just plug it in and print. Please help me solve this problem. Is there anyway to configure this on my computer? I have Vista. I’m running low on budget so I can’t afford to buy anything
some ideas:
1. If your printer has a wireless network capabilities you could use its menu to put in a password which you would use when you try to print wireless yourself.
2. The easiest thing to do is to hide the USB cable (which is pretty generic I’m afraid) but your friends may not have one handy or somehow prevent it from powering on (hide power cable).
3. Talk to your friends about this problem and see what they say.
