The Samsung CLP-315W colour laser printer is said by most to be one of the better readily available within its range, and that is typically about £145.00. Then again, is it that great a unit? Which Laser Printer should I get?
I am interested in a Samsung CLP-315 and would like to know if this is a good printer for a first time laser user (finally ready to throw old inkjet out window!!). If you think it is not good, can you recommend another COLOR laser in the $200-$300 range?
The CLP-315 is a good printer however depending on how much you print it can be a little pricy to run due to the separate drum that gets replaced each 25K pages. If your printing small amounts though the drum will last long enough that it won’t be an issue. At 50K you also have to replace the transfer belt at over $100.00.
The new HP low end color lasers are showing well though and are right in your price range. The drums are built into the cartridges. Transfer belt in the HP’s are rated at 100,00 pages.
