Good Booklet Printing for The Winter Months
If you want your booklet promotions to last the winter months, you have to know the environments they face. Of course you should also know how to protect them from those environments to lengthen their life. Booklet printing is not perfect and there will be times when your color booklets won’t survive as pristine looking as you want them to be once they get presented to the reader. In this article I will give you the common dangers that color booklets face and the various booklet printing details that you can use to avoid those dangers. Let us start with the cover.
• Highly resistant covers – Booklets will of course encounter some kind of moisture exposure in their lives. Be it water, snow, dirt, food or other materials, one of those will probably come into contact with your color brochures. During winter the risk is greater because of the accompanying weather.
To combat this moisture, you will need highly resistant covers. Good booklet printing with resistant covers means that the cover pages should be thicker with a certain chemical coating that makes it resistant to moisture. Your booklet printer should probably have this option for booklet printing; just ask them if it is possible for them to do it. This will add just a little to your booklet printing cost but the results will give you great booklets that are tough enough for the winter months.
• Tough inner pages – Booklets will also most probably encounter some physical assaults to its material. It might be the holiday rush as people grab and push with their things and your booklets, or your booklets might just be stored in the wrong places that bends and folds it. Whatever the case, if you want to toughen up your booklets so that they survive this physical assault, you should try using tough inner pages.
Printing booklets with tough inner pages means thickening up your inner booklet pages a bit. This is basically a question of paper weight. The heavier the paper is, the tougher it is to bend and the better it can stand physical assaults. So if you want to make your inner pages tougher, try thickening up the inner pages a bit. It will be a bit more expensive, but at least your color booklets will look better and last longer.
• Plastic materials – Now, if you really want your color booklets to be tough and ready for the winter, there is nothing like using plastic. Yes! You can use a cover that is covered with plastic or even made of plastic as well. This will not only make your booklets very resistant to moisture, it will also protect the pages quite well from outside physical assault. It might be expensive but it will be well worth the toughness it provides your booklets.

Pages Printed Question
My printer is printing out pages from the internet that I didn’t want printed. Why is this happening?
Twice I have tried printing a certain thing and it has printed pages from a site I had visited before. One time was printing out a different page from the internet and another was just photocopying something. Have I accidentally clicked something and it has made it do that? Please help. Thank you.
Chances are you have some jobs backed up in the print queue.
If you are running XP/Vista, go into start > control panel > printers & fax > Double click on the name of your printer…. It should then show a list of all the pending jobs… If you click on FILE at the top you should get a “cancel all jobs” or “delete all jobs” option…..
