printer problems….again?
im trying to connect my lexmark 2400 series printer to my laptop to print of stuff, but its not connecting, it did before, but since then my computer broke down and i had to get it fixed. can u pls give me some tips as to whats wrong and how i can set it all set up again, genuine answers please/thanks.

Printer message ‘Unsupported Cartridge’???
Any tips on how to get my printer(Lexmark) to accept a refilled ink cartridge?
I always buy the genuine one but they are so expensive, I thought I’d try the refilled one but it won’t accept it. Is it really worth it or should I stick to the original?
The cartridge usually has a chip attached to it – which the printer reads to see if the cartridge is genuine or not. The chip contains information such as the number of pages printed, the serial number and how much ink is remaining.
If the printer detects in incorrect chip or that the chip is not present then you will get the “Unsupported Cartridge” message.
There are ways of getting around this problem but they usually involve modifying the printer is some way. Sometimes its as simple as putting tape over the sensor and other times more drastic measures are required. It will depend upon what printer model you are using. Any modifications you make will likely invalidate any warranty you may have.
The other point to make about refills is that they are cheap because they are made of cheap materials. You will probably reduce the lifetime of your printer if you do use refills. Poor quality ink will block the jets/heads and cause your printer to produce poor quality prints.
You need to weigh up the pro’s and con’s as to whether you want to risk the cost of having to buy a new printer against the cost you will save on refill toners.
My advice is to stick with the originals.
