Looking for a good laptop- not sure what type or brand is better?
I am looking for a laptop that can handle doing homework on. It should be able to handle being attached to a printer, and the ability to download assignments and work on the internet.
I saw netbooks, notebooks and laptops, and dont know the difference- any ideas or helpful suggestions?

Macs use the same chips as PC’s.
Dells get their motherboard chips from the same manufacture of Asus, HP, Toshiba and others.
All computers get their Processor chips from Intel or AMD.
Just about every laptop uses the same components. All laptops are crap as far as build quality. Mac book pros have a slightly higher build quality just as HP has a slightly higher build quality.
I have worked with computers for many years and have come to the conclusion to get the laptop you want along with a 2 year warranty. A laptop will fail on you even if you leave it sitting on your desk the whole time and only use it the way it is supposed to be used.
Always get the warranty on laptops.
I recently bought a new HP laptop and I can’t seem to get the software for my old printer (also HP) to work.?
My laptop is an HP Pavilion dv4-2169nr Entertainment Notebook and printer is HP Photosmart C4240. I keep getting the message that its not compatible with windows 7 so I tried downloading the newer software from the website and got the same problem. Any suggestion? Please help, I don’t want to have to buy a new printer when this one works just fine.
If you browse to the HP website and look for drivers for your printer, you will be asked if you are using either a 32-bit version of Windows 7 or a 64-bit version. If you are trying to install the driver for the 32-bit version of Windows 7 on a 64-bit version of Windows 7, it will not function. First of all, right click on Computer and choose Properties. Here is mentioned if you have a 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows 7. Once you know, browse to the HP website again and download the right version of the driver for your version of Windows 7 and it will install fine.
