Can I connect and print to my printer via wireless with my laptop?
I have a laptop running vista and a desktop with xp pro. My printer/scanner is an Epson NX400 that is connected via USB to my desktop.
* Laptop is connected to ISP via wireless linksys router.
*XP machine is eth wired to router.
I can simply switch usb to laptop, however, I would like to somehow make the xp desktop a wireless print server/scanner if that is possible? Help would be appreciated.
Yes, you can share the printer with your laptop if you have it already installed on your desktop. What you do is from your desktop go to Control Panel>Printers and right click on the printer and select Sharing. Check the option to share this printer and click apply,OK. From your laptop you go to Control Panel>Printers>add a printer and choose add a network, wireless, or bluetooth printer. You should be able to find the printer on the network and connect to it. This will only work if your desktop computer is on.

I have an Epson NX400 all-in-one printer which quit working due to a paper jam. It’s very poorly designed, and I wouldn’t have another Epson product; they’re crap.
I had it for just over a year, and apparently they’re designed to break to force the user to buy another one right after the warranty is up.
Yes, I realize that a lot of products these days are designed to wear out, so we have to purchase again. I had a Brother printer before, and I liked the features, but it lasted about two years, and I feel that we should least get that much use out of a printer.
We should band together and refuse to buy inferior products, like Epson printers.
Canon printers are fairly robust and well designed.
There are many models so if you can be more specif about your needs IE text, text and photos. photos etc then I can try to match you up with a printer model.
Also, if you prefer single inks or tricolor and single black and about how much you wish to pay.
