Dose anyone know what this means in a shop selling ink cartages NO CHIP INCLUDED – Need for Original Chip?

You can buy two sorts of cartridges for your printer model.
One version is chipped and the other isn’t and effectively just a container of ink.
The un-chipped ones are cheaper as they have no chip on them and you need to transfer the chip on your empty original Canon cartridge.
There is a double pay off with the none chipped ones as they not only don’t have a chip and you therefore have to transfer one but that chip will not show ink levels as it is still a chip from an already empty cartridge.
If you use un-chipped ones you will have to disable the ink monitor which means you have no indicator when your ink is becoming low.
