Canon Duplex Laser Printer Information
Canon Pixma iP3600 Cartridge Review
The Canon Pixma iP3600 is part of the same range with the Pixma iP4600. But it doesn’t have some of the iP4600′s more leading-edge features, such as automatic duplex printing, however it still manages to make an impression.
Setting up went smoothly. The last step is manual print head alignment, that involves choosing the most solid-looking printed rectangles on a test print then inputting the numbers printed next to it directly into an onscreen interface. There are 3 pages of this, which can be somewhat tedious, it’s worth doing properly though as it certainly improves the print quality a lot.
All prints looked outstanding. In fact even the draft text appears to be very clear and easy to read, while lettering at a normal quality appeared to be as sharp as that produced by the Canon LBP5050 laser printer and a bit darker. Fonts as small at 5pt were possible to read, though a little unclear, at normal quality. Colour document prints appeared superb, it had precise tones and shading in our graphs and business graphics.
We are also surprised of the iP3600′s photo printing capacities. Even though the printer utilizes just four inks, the color as well as the shading of our photo prints was basically similar to those of many six-ink printers we’ve reviewed. Skin tones appeared natural, dark colors and low-contrast parts was well-defined and bright colors appeared dazzling and impressive. The clearness and detail of our photos was indeed among the best we’ve personally seen out of a budget inkjet, with no jagged dithering, graininess or fuzzy edges.
The iP3600 comes with a separate print head, therefore if the nozzles become clogged, you could simply replace the head instead of throwing away the entire printer. Although this is a four-colour printer, this actually requires five individual ink cartridges for the Canon Ip3600 to function., which include both dye as well as pigment-based black ink. The clear dye ( CLI-521 cartridges) results in vibrant tones on photo paper, while the pigment-based ink ( PGI-520BK cartridge) was designed to sink into standard paper and will dry instantly to create well-defined text with no smudges. Just like the more expensive iP4600, this particular printer comes with both a rear paper tray which could take standard as well as photographic paper and also a front-loading cartridge. The latter can hold around one hundred fifty sheets of standard A4 and possesses a protective cover to keep dust out.
The mono print speeds are quick at 6.7ppm at standard quality. Draft quality prints are sufficiently good to use even for formal documents, and printed at 9.3ppm. Mixed-colour documents were a bit longer to print at just 2.2ppm, however , this compares well with the majority of inkjets. Mixed-colour prints are generally affordable at 6p, while mono costs of 2.3p per page are a little bit high.
Should you want an inkjet for use at home, the iP3600 combines fantastic print quality, low mixed colour costs along with an low price. It’s a great buy and, if you don’t really need a duplexer, is better value than the iP4600

Canon Duplex Laser Printer Question
What is the meaning of “no manual duplex printing” in a Laser-jet printer?
There is one laser-jet printer Canon LBP2900B the website says that it does not support “manual duplex printing”
What does that mean? Does that mean I will not be able to turn around the printed page and feed it again so that the other side can also be used for printing?
Yes you can print and turn the paper around to print again. I don’t know why it says that. Read it again. It is quite obvious that it can be done.
Canon 3010 duplex printing?
Hi,
I’ve just bought a canon 3010B black and white laser printer. How can i duplex print automatically? In other words how can i make the printer automatically print on both sides of the paper without me needing to interfere? Specially in word 2007?
Thnx in advance
hello,
depending on your type of printer. in the word 2007 program. go to your printing window. then click on properties. in the Canon Printer Properties click on the page setup tab and you should see the duplex printing options. put a check mark in the box and click ok when done, then print. if your print asks you to manual flip the page, just follow the on screen.
note that for the duplex printing you must do the following steps for all printing jobs!
