2 black ink cartridges on canon mp780?
large black ink cartridge is running low (BCI-3eBK), but second (BCI-6BK) is still full. when is the 6BK being used and can i switch between the two?

mp 780 uses 5 separate ink tanks and come with one pigment black ( for printing text ) ( # 3e )
and the other one is dye for printing photos ( # 5/6 )
this is the good thing in canon and this is why there out put in photos is the best because most of the printers comes with one black and normally its pigment and the colors are dye so, there will be no combination between the pigment black and the dye colors so, when they print photos there picturess are need for black.
canon is the only brand that they ensure two black inks in there printers.
so, automatically when you print text it’ll use the pigment one ( the big one )
and when you print photo the dye black will mix with the other dye colors and will give you great output.
one last thing the dye black color gives you shining and shadows for your picture which is real great.
P.S be careful don’t swith between the two or you’ll have to deep clean your head and it might harm it also
