Can someone please help me with sharing a printer between 2 computers?
I have (2) computers running Windows 2000 Professional. I have a Brother MFC-9440CN laser printer that I would like to share between the two.
- Computer1 has DSL.
- I do not want to connect Computer2 to the internet.
The printer has both a USB and Ethernet. Both computers have USB and Ethernet Cards. They do not have wireless cards in them. I don’t mind to use cable, if it can save money.
What would be the fastest, easiest way to share the printer between the two computers? What equipment do I need?
Attach the printer’s Ethernet port to the Modem/router. Attach computer #1 to it using TCP/IP.

Connect computer #2 to the printer using USB cable.
