How to Write an Effective Auction Description
A lot of eBay sellers do not know how to write effective eBay auction descriptions to create a buzz and get customers bidding for their products. Getting your items listed on eBay is only part of the process. In order for people to bid from you they need to be sure of what they are getting. That is where your item description is key. Be balanced with your potential customers but also enthusiastic so they want to compete for your products.
Critical elements of an eBay product description
The important elements of an auction item description are the title and the body of the description. Both will work together to create a total picture of the item in the bidders mind even before they see the photos. Boring descriptions will not tempt them to click and see more.
So, begin with a strong title that catches their attention. When crafting yours, be precise and descriptive. What would appeal to you if you were the buyer? Use that same technique to write one for your items.
For example if you were selling a dining room table? A title that said, “Red dining room table,” does not really say much. Everyone knows what a dining room table is so this is no help at all. It could be a table for a dollhouse for all you know.
Try it again. This time say, “Authentic 1955 Red Oak Farmhouse Table, gently stressed.” Now, the bidder can imagine the table and even feel the texture due to the gentle stressing of the paint. You could not imagine that before. Someone will come in for a closer look at this table.
Now we move on to the description itself. A description is not about being flowery but detailing the characteristics of your product using eye-catching words. The first thing to remember is to mention all aspects of the item that would be important to anyone buying one.
If you know your product from front to back, that will not be a problem for you. Using a printer for instance. What manufacturer and make is it? Does it make color or black copies? How many are produced in a minute? What else does it do?
All of these questions will help you come up with an informative description. Look at this:
HP DeskJet F4235 All-In-One Printer, 6 months old
Prints (20 ppm black, 15 ppm color)
Scans (with removable lid for large items)
Copies
Professional quality photo prints (Vivera 60 color and black ink cartridges)
USB printer cable included
You would most likely bid on a printer with a description like that. It includes all the information you can use to make an informed decision about bidding on this product. You know that HP makes quality items and it can be used to copy photos from your digital camera and gives you professional quality prints.
The more information you can include in your auction item description, the more likely a potential bidder is to take a closer look and possibly put in a bid. Put a good effort into writing your eBay auction product descriptions as these will appeal to customers and increase your overall sales and profit from your eBay business.

Black Vivera Question
Help with my printer!!?
Two questions concerning my hp psc 1513s All -in-One(printer,photocopy-scanner)
it has a label that says vivera hp inks.
Q-1 How do i know which brand to get?(when i open up the printer there are two labels on each cartridge : one that has a green triangle and the other that has a black pentagon and a red square what do they mean?
Q-2 Everytime i scan something or photocopy something it comes out like lines or blurry, what do i do about it?
this is how my photos look like when they are scanned or photocopied:
it never did that before
I have a similar printer from hp. There should have been a card on the package of ink cartridges that tells you what kind of ink to purchase. If you dont have that, then when you are getting low on ink just take the whole cartridge in to any major computer sales store and they can help you match it. If you didnt get ink cartridges when you purchased the printer, check the hp website or call them and they can tell you exactly what kind to get. The triangle, pentagon and square are for designating where your tri-color and black cartridges go.
As far as the lines. You may want to use the provided software to fix any irregularities in your scanning process. Make sure the picture is lying flat as well.
